Scanning old photographs

I will admit I have lost some interest in blogging. I guess it didn't last long. Anyway I thought this would be a good place to let everyone know that I am still scanning old photographs and negatives. The latest item I have completed is Irja's Photo Album. It is posted here. I plan to continue scanning the old photographs as I get time. This particular album is scanned into PDF format. However I can send individual jpeg formatted files if people see a particular photograph they would like to print out. I will also post new photographs in my pictures album as well. You can find a link to my album from the Alameda Eskimos main page.

Bob Saget

Well the Seahawk's loss the Bears really put a damper on my Blogging. I knew that the Bears wouldn't have enough QB to pull off a Superbowl win. Well this pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.

I feel like my summer has shifted into high gear already. The family is already making plans through the majority of summer and I feel it will be September before too soon.

Sweet Home Chicago!

Well the hawks pulled out a clincher and move on another round in the playoffs. Not sure how it happened really - I watched the game and I am just as mystified as Romo was at the Hawks win. Every sports caster is already saying the Bears are going to win as long as Grossman doesn't mess up too bad. Even Seattles own sports writers have fallen short of saying the Hawks can pull this one out. Everyone has written the Hawks out of it. I will go out on a limb here and say that the Hawks are going to New Orleans for the NFC Championship game. The Bears don't stand a chance. There I said it. There is at least one person who believes they can do it. Thats more than I can say believed they would win against Dallas just before Romo bobbled the ball and fumbled. Sweet Home Chicago here we come!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Well the southern part of the Alholm clan had a very merry holiday. Grandpa and Grandma Alholm visited for the better part of a week through the holiday. Everything seemed to go too quickly. This year Jenn and I didn’t take any vacation as we usually get a lot of liberty during the holiday routine and this year proved no different. So while Grandma and the kids built gingerbread homes and watched movies we worked a few hours. I had a paper due for my college course on art history due the 23 of December that took up most of my week. Therefore I didn’t begin my holiday shopping until Friday evening. So for the extended family that means that I didn’t get around to your presents until much later… Mom, Jenn, Jeff and Zac and I went to candlelight service at a small Lutheran church here in Alameda. I have posted some pictures of the Christmas morning carnage in the photo albums.
It’s always interesting to see which toys garner the most attention from the children. This year it’s a tossup between magnetic building blocks and a portable edutainment gaming machine. The kids also got an ice cream ball that you kick around and make ice cream with.

Day in Downtown

We spent the day in downtown San Francisco on Saturday. Chris and Jeniffer Talent and Jeff Gray spent the day with us. We had lunch/dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and then took a stoll along the Embarcadero. If you want to see some more pictures check it out here.

San Fran Zoo

Grandma Alholm is visiting us over the long holiday weekend. We decided to visit the San Francisco Zoo. She had not been to this particular zoo since she was 13 years old. The zoo is larger than the Oakland Zoo but Jenn and I agreed that it didn’t have as many exhibits or animals as the Oakland Zoo. Both zoo’s seem to pale in comparison to the Portland Zoo and Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. However we had a really good time walking through the park. This zoo had several exhibits that were empty. Some were under renovation but most were empty. If you want to see some more pictures of our trip click here.

Singing Mice

There are certain things that science has discoverd that forever change the way we see the world. The discovery of fire, learning that the world is round and not flat, the mapping of the human genome. This discovery is not one of them. Mice sing. Yes this is not a beaver damn, great columbia vulture or McDonald's gelatinous egg fib, but true bonofied reality. If you don't believe me click here.
Strangely this discovery made me quite happy that scientists are listening to their poor white test subjects. Perhaps they will discover that the mice are extually singing spiritials in hopes that they may one day be set free to suffer gruesome experiments no more!
